It was reported that Chargers left tackle Russell Okung has returned to practice today. This is a good sign after an offseason pulmonary embolism (blood clots in lungs) but there's no guarantee that he will return this season. Blood clots require thinning of the blood and in a collision sport like football, it’s dangerous if a player can bleed easily. The question is, what caused the clot. Knowing the cause will determine what kind of treatment is needed. If he can get off blood thinners, he may return, but it wouldn’t be for multiple weeks.
