Antoine Winfield Jr. experienced a Lisfranc injury in 2018 which needed surgery while he attended the University of Minnesota. He missed nine games due to the injury, but bounced back and played well in 2019 making 87 tackles and 8.5 tackles for loss. Winfield Jr. also endured a severe hamstring injury in 2017 that lingered throughout the season. Both injuries are of no concern going forward opening the door for NFL teams to draft the playmaking safety as early as round two.
