The Jets QB is hoping to return to play next week after this week's bye. That would be the sooner than we predicted he could play, but at this point that seems to be a longshot. Darnold needs scans tomorrow to show his spleen is no longer enlarged and then needs to get back into playing form. At this point, week 6 or 7 seems to be the realistic target for return.
