The San Francisco Giants have placed starting pitcher Blake Snell on the 15-day injured list for the second time this year due to a re-aggravation of the left adductor injury that caused his first stay on the IL.
This is the fourth time in his career that Snell has dealt with this issue, and each time he has missed twenty days or more. We at sicscore.com expect the pitcher to miss a month as the left leg is the push-off leg for the lefty pitcher, which is vital for his delivery.
This season has been a mess for two-time Cy Young winner. Snell wasn't signed until March 18, which meant he had a shorter preparation time for the season, including no spring training games. This delay in signing has obviously set him up to experience strains or other soft tissue injuries this year.
The combination of limited preparation and recurring injuries has significantly impacted Snell's performance and availability, further complicating what has already been a challenging season for him and the Giants.
