Kudos to Barkley and his progress from a right high ankle sprain. He practiced in limited fashion yesterday and this morning more video surfaced from the media portion of him running/cutting during Giants practice. Head coach Pat Shumur would not rule Barkley out this week. I continue to believe he will not play this week. There is no question he has done a great job rehabbing and is progressing well however it is hard to speed up biology. He seems to be on the better end of my initial four to six weeks timeline. A Week 7 return seems to be a lock meaning his recovery time would sit at a total of four weeks. Although the videos look promising, he is still somewhat flat footed and not up to full speed. Even if he can be effective, one has to factor in the risk of reinjury and setbacks. For these reasons, I continue to believe he will not play this week. The week 6 turnaround is quick due to the game being on Thursday night. Although he has made great strides, I lean towards a Week 7 100% full healthy return. Of course it is a head coaches job to play coy towards the media to keep his opponents guessing but I do not expect Barkley suit up Sunday
