Giants star running back Saquon Barkley has been ruled out for this weekend's contest against the Raiders.
Barkley cleared COVID-19 protocol – he was held out of practice because of a false positive test – and the absence has been attributed to the sprained ankle he suffered in Week 5.
We expect Barkley to return in Week 11 at Tampa Bay on Monday Night Football after the Giants (2-6) bye in Week 10. The fourth-year back should look fresher given the extra two weeks to recover from not only the ankle, but the torn right knee ACL he suffered in 2020.
Devontae Booker has rushed 57 times for 194 yards and two touchdowns in Barkley's four-game absence as the Giants have gone 1-3.
