Giants star running back Saquon Barkley reportedly tested positive for COVID-19 Wednesday and is in danger of missing Sunday's game against the Raiders. Barkley, who is vaccinated, can return after testing negative for two consecutive days. The 24-year-old was not a lock to play this week anyways, as he is recovering from a Week 5 inversion ankle sprain. He has not practiced since suffering the injury and will likely miss practice this week due to his COVID situation.
If he does miss this week, he will get the Giants Week 10 bye to rest and will undoubtedly return for Week 11 against the Buccaneers on Monday night. Backup running back Devontae Booker would fill in again if Barkley is ineligible to play. Booker had 15 carries for 60 yards, plus 5 catches for 65 yards against the Chiefs Monday.
