Marquise Blair, the Seahawks backup free safety, injured his right knee late in the fourth quarter of the 13-10 Monday night loss to the Saints. By video, Blair was pushed by New Orleans wide receiver Tre'Quan Smith and landed awkwardly on his right leg. He walked off under his own power, but the injury mechanism was consistent with an ACL tear.
There has been no formal confirmation, but head coach Pete Carroll said after the game that Blair has a significant knee injury. The 24-year-old tore the ACL in the same knee in Week 2 last season and missed the rest of the year. He played in six games this year and had nine combined tackles.
