Injury Advantage: Rams Offense
Los Angeles enter the game sixth in yards gained this season, while the 49ers could be without several key pieces for the pivotal matchup.
Starting linebackers Azeez Al-Shaair and Dre Greenlaw are both questionable for the game and would be key losses if they don't play.
Greenlaw has dealt with a groin injury all season and reaggravated the injury Week 12. If he's active he will likely have limited burst and ability to move side to side.
Al-Shaair suffered a knee sprain Week 16 and missed last week's game. He is the more likely of the two to play.
Strong safety Jaquiski Tartt is also questionable with a shoulder injury, but will likely play.
The 49ers did activate cornerbacks K'Waun Williams and Dontae Johnson, plus free safety Jimmie Ward from the COVID reserve list Saturday.
No. 1 corner Emmanuel Moseley was also activated from IR and will play his first game since Week 13.
Secondary Advantage: Rams Passing Defense
Jimmy Garoppolo will reportedly start at quarterback despite the UCL tear in his right thumb.
ProFootballDoc, Dr. David Chao, said it will be extremely difficult for the quarterback to spin the football and throw accurately with the injury.
Rookie quarterback Trey Lance started for Garoppolo last week and threw for 249 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions. He also ran for 31 yards.
The Rams, meanwhile, are without defensive tackle Sebastian Joseph-Day, No. 3 cornerback Robert Rochell and rookie linebacker Ernest Jones.
Los Angeles is 20th in passing yards allowed this season, but have key pass rusher Aaron Donald healthy along with an experienced secondary.
