Injury: Right ankle sprain
Impact: If the game were close, Mahomes could have continued. He returned for the start of the second half after the late first half injury.
Week 4 Opponent: New York Jets
Injury: Left knee ACL tear
Impact: By video, our panel of docs have significant worry for a left knee ACL tear for the Chargers No. 2 wideout. If confirmed on MRI, he will miss the remainder of the season. That could mean more targets for Joshua Palmer and Quentin Johnston.
Week 4 Opponent: Las Vegas Raiders
Injury: Right shoulder
Impact: Carr was taken to a hospital for precautionary testing, which reportedly did not reveal a more severe injury than an AC joint sprain. Based on initial video and reporting, it’s possible he has an SC joint sprain. AC joint sprains can be played through with a numbing injection, while an SC joint sprain requires a few weeks of rest for a quarterback.
Week 4 Opponent: Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Injury: Possible concussion
Impact: Fields appeared to display ataxia after taking a big hit to the head late in the fourth quarter of the blowout loss to the Chiefs. It’s a positive sign he returned and was able to finish the game. We hope he’s able to avoid concussion protocol ahead of next week’s matchup.
Week 4 Opponent: Denver Broncos
Injury: Right knee MCL sprain
Impact: Ridley had a rough day, including a couple drops in the first half. He suffered his injury early in the second quarter, but was able to return and finish the game. The former Falcon had 3 catches for 40 yards on 7 targets.
Week 4 Opponent: Atlanta Falcons
Injury: left leg cramps
Impact: Jefferson thankfully avoided injury late in the Week 3 loss to the Chargers. He was able to return and this should not affect him going forward.
Week 4 Opponent: Carolina Panthers
Injury: concussion
Impact: Edwards was knocked out of the game late in the fourth quarter with a concussion. In recent years, roughly 50% of players have been able to clear concussion protocol to play in the next week.
Week 4 Opponent: Cleveland Browns
Injury: Left ankle sprain
Impact: Henry went down while in a pile late in the win over the Jets, but his injury did not appear severe. He was able to walk off and likely could have returned if the team had another series.
Week 4 Opponent: Dallas Cowboys
Injury: hamstring
Impact: Bateman’s hamstring tightened up on him late in the game, causing him to exit the contest and not return, he told reporters after the game. Hopefully he did not suffer a hamstring strain and Wednesday’s practice report will tell the truth about his injury.
