Steve Kerr told reporters pre-game on Wednesday that Stephen Curry has yet to progress to on-court work but is trending in the right direction in his recovery from a left foot sprain.
The ProBasketballDocs, including former Bulls’ team doctor John Hefferon and Rockets' current physician Walt Lowe, anticipate a 3-week absence for Curry that leads to a full return for the playoffs, which start on April 16.
Curry was seen pregame on Wednesday wearing the walking boot on his left foot protecting his damaged Intermetatarsal joint that connects to his injured toe.
He had previously ditched the boot last week for March Madness events hosted at Chase Center, inspiring optimism from fans for a shortened absence, but the excitement proved to be premature.
The 34-year-old has not played since suffering the injury when Marcus Smart rolled into his legs diving for a loose ball on March 16, and is set to be re-evaluated on Friday.
The Warriors are 1-6 in the most recent stretch sans Curry and 3–10 overall without the 2-time MVP this season.
3rd-year budding star Jordan Poole has blossomed as the No. 1 shot-creator, averaging 25.6 points and 5.1 assists in the last 10 games, including a 38-point showing on Tuesday against the Suns.
The Warriors, 48-29, dropped to the No. 4 seed due to a lost tiebreaker with the Mavericks, but finish with a 5-game slate against the slumping Jazz, Kings, damaged Lakers, Spurs, and Pelicans.
