Sterling Shepard, the Giants No. 2 wideout, tore his Achilles tendon late in the fourth quarter against the Cowboys.
By video, Shepard was attempting to come out of a break when he suffered the non-contact injury to his left leg. ProFootballDoc, Dr. David Chao, said he has significant worry for an Achilles tendon rupture.
Shepard was carted off the field and will undergo an MRI to confirm the Achilles tendon tear.
The late timing of the injury means he will have a tough offseason and won't be up to speed by the start of training camp.
Shepard finishes the year with 34 catches for 351 yards and a touchdown in six games played.
He signed a four-year, $41 million contract extension with the Giants in 2019.
