The Cincinnati Bengals will fight for the AFC title and compete in a Conference Championship game for first time in 33 years. They have manage this through a vaunted air attack led by LSU alumi QB Joe Burrow and stud wideout Ja'Marr Chase.
Sometimes a name who is lost in conversation but deserves credit for the Bengals rise to stardom is running back Joe Mixon. Mixon enjoyed a stellar season rushing for 1,203 yards and 13 touchdowns.
However, since rushing for a season best 165 yards Week 12, Mixon has not rushed for over 70 yards in a game and has managed only one game over 60 yards.
In the last meeting between the two, Mixon managed 46 yards on just 12 carries in a tightly won game by the Bengals.
The Chiefs are going into Round 2 fully healthy on the defensive side with an impressive 92.2 SIC team defense score. SS Tyrann Mathieu will likely return from his concussion and slot corner Rashad Fenton has no injury designation after missing last week with a back injury.
The starting linebacking core has been extremely healthy all season combining for just 8 games missed with the majority (5) attributed to an IR stint by Willie Gay who has played well since returning from a toe issue Week 5. The defensive line has also shared the linebackers bill of health and have only dealt with the loss of DL Chris Jones for three games.
After the return of Jones in Week 7 due to missing the previous two games to torn ligaments in his wrist, the Chiefs turned a poor defensive start to the season into a positive end.
The defense heads into the game with a high 91.7 SIC run defense score. The entire defensive unit has played well heading into the playoffs and are healthy at every level providing the perfect opportunity to limit the Bengals elite running back.
On top of the low rushing totals to end the season, Mixon has gone under the Fanduel prop of 56.5 rushing yards in his last three games including both playoff games. Expect a high flying passing game between both teams and for both to shy away from the run game as each team finished in the bottom half of the league in passing yards allowed.
Bet : Joe Mixon U56.5 rushing yards
