Tampa Bay Rays Injury Roundup

Shane McClanahan - Out for Season

Underwent Tommy John surgery in mid-August and will miss the entire 2023 and 2024 seasons - big blow to the Rays already depleted rotation.

Drew Rasmussen - Out for Season

Underwent Tommy John surgery in mid-May - Rasmussen had a 2.62 ERA in 8 starts this year after posting a 2.84 ERA in 28 starts last season.

Jeffrey Springs - Out for Season

Analysis confirmed - Springs underwent Tommy John surgery and is out for the rest of the season - exited April 14 start in the fourth inning and was diagnosed with left arm ulnar neuritis. Anything involving a nerve issue in the elbow is worrying for a pitcher, but this issue specifically has a high correlation to ulnar collateral ligament damage and Tommy John surgery.

Randy Arozarena - SIC score 90

Missed time late in season with a quadriceps injury but should be ready for playoffs.

Jose Siri - 10-day IL

Was placed on the 10-day IL with a right hand fracture in early September - was originally expected to be out for 3 weeks but could return for early playoff round.
