Taylor Rapp Cleared From Concussion Protocol, Set to Start in Super Bowl LVI

Rams starting free safety Taylor Rapp practiced in full all week and is poised to return in Super Bowl LVI after a concussion kept him out of the previous three playoff games.

However, no formal announcement has been made about Rapp clearing concussion protocol.

Rapp practicing in full is just one component of clearing concussion protocol. He needs to be cleared by an independent neurologist to play.

It's possible this has already been done, especially with the extra time of Super Bowl week, but it's certainly odd that no announcement has been made yet.

Rapp suffered the concussion in the Week 18 loss to the 49ers and has not played since. Typically, if a player is not able to be symptom-free by the second week of practice, the symptoms will linger for an unknown amount of time.

No two concussion recoveries are the same, but Rapp should be able to play his usual snaps in Super Bowl LVI.

Eric Weddle will start opposite him at strong safety and Nick Scott is available to fill in for both if need be.
