Taysom Hill, the Saints versatile quarterback, reportedly suffered a mallet finger injury in the loss to the Cowboys and will eventually need surgery. Hill suffered the injury when he hit his hand on Carlos Watkins' arm in the first quarter of the game. He returned and finished the game with a splint on his middle finger, but his accuracy suffered mightily. Hill finished the game 19 for 41 for 264 yards, two touchdowns and four interceptions.
We expect to see Trevor Siemian resume his role at quarterback with Hill injured. The Saints and Hill could decide to delay surgery until after the season while Hill plays other roles on the team, but he is also reportedly dealing with a partially torn plantar fascia in one of his feet.
