The thirty-six-year-old tight end has garnered some interest as he enters free agency. In Week 1 of the 2018 season, Walker suffered a significant ankle fracture dislocation. There was optimism going into the 2019 season from the football world however we postulated in our preseason injury report that he would continue to struggle and be less than 100%. He made a valiant effort at playing in 2019, even scoring two touchdowns in Week 1, but later in the year Walker was placed on injured reserve. He missed the last 9 games of the season with lingering ankle issues from his fracture dislocation. Given his age and the current status of his ankle, Walker would need to pass a physical in person. Rumors are that the Redskins, who are depleted at the tight end position, may be interested in his services. The former 49er could be a good short-term fit and we would not expect more than a one-year contract for this veteran player.
