Our analysis yesterday had Green out the entire month of September as he was still in a walking boot. This meant he was still a good month away from game action. Today, Green reported he was out of the walking boot and running with no pain. Typically, one walks without a boot for a week and then jogs the next before running the following week. The reality is he ran on a zero gravity treadmill where he was not using all his body weight. This is a good sign of progress but hardly where he needs to be in order to be ready to play or practice. Once he is sprinting with full body weight, then he is likely two weeks away as he still would need to plant and cut. If he can advance to running full speed this week and begin cutting and practicing next week, his return timeline could be accelerated. He certainly is not playing this Sunday against the 49ers but could be targeting a Monday Night Football return on the last day of September against the division rival Steelers. This would be better news than anticipated for the Bengals.
