Wide Receivers - AJ Brown missed two games earlier in the year with a knee injury, but worked his way back and has had a great season since, with over 1,000 yards in the books. He reaggravated his ankle in Week 17, but returned to the game and should be a full go for the playoffs as a focal point in this passing game.
Adam Humphries is a proven commodity as a slot option with a lot of production under his belt, but he has only appeared in seven games this season. He suffered a concussion on November 1st, missed 4 games and returned for one before heading to injured reserve with further concussion symptoms. With this much time missed with a concussion, his year is almost certainly over, and the Titans have been leaning heavily on Jonnu Smith at tight end for production across the middle.
Offensive Lineman - While the Titans have been monstrously productive on the ground per Derrick Henry this year, they have had to push through the loss of Taylor Lewan at left tackle. He has been a rock solid presence on this line for years, and they have had to cope with not just his loss, but the depth behind him as well. Ty Sambrailo filled in for a few games but suffered an undisclosed season-ending injury of his own, and rookie 1st-round tackle Isaiah Wilson has been on the NFI list since early December. Guard/Tackle David Quessenberry has filled in for Lewan and Sambrailo down the stretch. Guard Rodger Saffold went down Week 17 with an ankle injury and didn’t return, so there are fears he may not heal up in time for the playoffs.
Linebackers - Jayon Brown has become a key piece of this defense at inside linebacker, but unfortunately fractured his elbow in the Week 11 contest vs Baltimore. His season is done and the Titans have had to scrape by without him in the middle of their defense.
Jadeveon Clowney is having an off season, and had yet to notch a sack before exiting to injured reserve with a meniscus issue. He since opted to undergo season-ending surgery and will be unavailable for the Titan’s playoff run. Given the nature of his one-year deal in Tennessee, his possible future with the team remains unclear heading into the offseason.
Cornerbacks - The Titan’s secondary has been banged up this year, especially at corner. Adoree’ Jackson missed the first 11 games with a knee injury, and Kristian Fulton has missed the past 9 weeks with a knee injury of his own. Fulton was held out of the Week 16 contest despite not being listed on the injury report, and there is a possibility that this injury is lingering. Their depth pieces have been hurt as well. Dane Cruikshank has missed all but one game with a groin injury and remains on IR, Breon Borders has been on IR for the past 3 weeks with a hip issue, and Chris Jackson (hamstring/covid), Kareem Orr (groin) and Tye Smith (shoulder) all missed time earlier in the year. They’ve been shifting players around across from Malcolm Butler all year, and this process continues into the playoffs.
