Terron Armstead Injury: Here's What We Know About the Dolphins' LT

Miami Dolphins left tackle Terron Armstead was carted off at practice on Thursday with a right leg injury he suffered on the first snap of 11 on 11 drills.

By video, his issue does not appear to be related to his past two knee surgeries. It also appears mild in severity given the fact that there is no wrap present when he was walking around after practice.

Armstead reportedly did not put weight on his right leg while getting on the cart, but later posted a video of him walking around with a slight limp. It’s unclear where on his right leg the issue is, but the fact it’s his right leg is concerning given his position.

The right leg is crucial for a left tackle’s ability to push out and protect the outside edge.

Armstead is recovering from right knee surgery he had this offseason and has been ramping up his practice participation. This potential setback puts his Week 1 availability in doubt.

He also had surgery on his right knee prior to the 2022 season.

The former Saint was limited to 13 games last season while dealing with elbow, toe and pectoral injuries. He battled through those with moderate results.

If Armstead isn’t healthy for Week 1 the team may turn to Isaiah Wynn at left tackle. However, left guard Liam Eichenberg has been limited in training camp with an undisclosed “nagging” issue.

If Eichenberg is also not healthy for Week 1, Wynn would likely start at left guard with Kendall Lamm moving to left tackle.
