The Saints starting left tackle left Sunday's game midway through the 1st quarter and was carted off the sideline with a reported ankle injury. By video in-game, we did not see much and it didn't appear to be an unusual fifth metatarsal injury or any significant damage. A report from Ian Rapoport this morning says Armstead is suffering from a high ankle sprain. Many people fear high ankle sprains but this actually is good news. After reviewing the film, there is no significant high ankle sprain mechanism meaning that this is not going to be a long term high ankle sprain type injury. With the Thursday game looming, he is likely out and the Saints offensive line will be shorthanded with Andrus Peat already out with a broken forearm. However, I do not feel this is a long term injury and he should be back soon but the Saints will be affected by his absence on Thursday which will be apparent in our Week 13 Saints versus Falcons Injury Index.
