Former Rays outfielder Austin Meadows has played just 36 games for the Tigers this season after numerous health issues, the latest of which has landed him on the 10-day IL.
Meadows is reportedly dealing with strains to his left and right Achilles tendons and is without a timetable to return.
The Pro Baseball Docs expect Meadows to be out well past the minimum 10 days and would be surprised to see him return before late July/early August.
Meadows missed 11 days starting June 17 after testing positive for COVID-19. The 27-year-old was gearing up for a rehab assignment with Triple-A Toledo when the Achilles issues popped up.
He also landed on IL May 16 after experiencing vertigo symptoms, potentially related to an ear and sinus infection he had previously.
Meadows was acquired by the Tigers on April 5 for infielder Isaac Paredes and the No. 71 overall pick in the 2022 draft.
The fifth-year outfielder is hitting .250 this season with 11 RBIs and is without a home run.
