Jaden McDaniels suffered a left ankle injury Monday night, but should return before the playoffs, according to the ProBasketballDocs.
The second-year forward appeared to suffer a standard inversion lateral grade 2 ankle sprain in the final moments of the 149-139 win over the Spurs.
That ankle sprain typically keeps players out two-to-three weeks, according to the ProBasketballDocs.
Head coach Chris Finch told reporters on Wednesday that McDaniels suffered a high ankle sprain, but the ProBasketballDocs don't see the mechanics for that injury based on the video.
With just under four weeks left in the season, McDaniels should be back in time to ramp up for the playoffs.
The Timberwolves, 40-30, currently sit in the seventh spot in the West, 1.5 games behind the Denver Nuggets. If the standings remain the same, Minnesota would play the Pelicans in the play-in game.
With McDaniels out at least the next two weeks, Jared Vanderbilt and Taurean Prince will likely see more minutes.
The Timberwolves are 9.5-point favorites at home tonight against the Lakers, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
