T.J. Watt, the Steelers linebacker, injured his left knee late in the third quarter against the Lions. By video, Watt sacked Lions quarterback Jared Goff, then grabbed his left knee. Through limited video angles, we believe Watt escaped serious injury because of the wet field. His outside plant leg appeared to slip as he turned the corner and he was checked out in the blue medical tent. If his foot didn't slip, we would have worry for an ACL tear. In this case, we think Watt's knee is structurally fine and we expect him to return to the game.
Update
Watt has been deemed questionable to return with a hip injury. Hip is certainly better news than a knee injury, but we are unsure of the exact issue for Watt.
