Tampa Bay quarterback Tom Brady injured his right thumb in the team's Week 4 win over the Dolphins and had a large wrap on the thumb Tuesday. By video, Brady suffered the injury when his hand hit the helmet of Dolphins defensive tackle Christian Wilkins following a throw with just over four minutes left in the second quarter. The veteran quarterback immediately looked at his thumb as he fell to the ground, but got back up and did not miss a snap. He even finished the drive by throwing a touchdown. Before the injury, he was 14 for 20 for 218 yards and two touchdowns. After the injury, he was 16 for 21 for 193 yards and three touchdowns.
We believe Brady has a thumb sprain/contusion. Right now we have no cause for concern about Brady's thumb. The veteran quarterback has played through his fair share of thumb injuries, including a much worse injury before the 2018 AFC Championship game. We expect the 44-year-old to suit up and be effective in the Thursday night matchup against the Eagles.
