Both Toronto and Cleveland were not expected to be fighting for playoff spots heading into the season but each is instead fighting to stay of out of the Play-In Tournament. Injuries have victimized the rosters specifically at the guard position heading into the Sunday contest.
Cavaliers SIC Health Score: 76.4
The guard position has been a sore spot for the Cavaliers all season starting with the Collin Sexton knee injury in just the 11th game of the season. Joining on him the sidelines are guards Rajon Rondo and Caris Lavert.
All-Star Darius Garland (FD $8,000) is dealing with a back issue but playing fine through the injury averaging 29.5 ppg since returning from a three game absence.
Garland dished a career high 19 assists in his last start
With the lack of guards, minutes have opened up for G/F Cedi Osman (FD $4,600) and G Brandon Goodwin (FD $4,600) who have provided tremendous value all season.
Raptors SIC Health Score: 74.7
The team from Toronto has impressed many this season sitting in the 7th seed in the Easter Conference. They have achieved this by a balanced scoring effort including 5 players averaging 14 points.
Two of those scorers will miss the contest due to injury.
G Fred Van Vleet has been dealing the knee soreness leaving him on the sideline while do-it-all forward OG Anunoby will miss his 7th straight game due to a finger fracture. Without both, the Raptors will be missing a combined 38.9 points per game which will likely hamper their offense on Sunday.
Van Vleet’s backup, G Malachi Flynn will also miss the contest due to a hamstring issue. Expect G Gary Trent Jr. (FD $6,600) to play heavy minutes and feature more on offense due to the lack of guards on the roster.
With both dealing with injuries across the board, the injury advantages are small but value can be found:
Gary Trent Jr. O20.5 Points
Darius Garland O21.5 Points
