Trevon Diggs Sat Out Fourth Quarter With Back Tightness, Should Play Uninhibited Week 5

Cowboys star cornerback Trevon Diggs reportedly sat out the fourth quarter of Sunday's win over the Panthers with back tightness. After the game, head coach Mike McCarthy said Diggs suffered the injury in the first half when he was hit in the back by a cleat. Diggs also reportedly had a heat balm applied to his lower back in the first quarter. We reviewed video from the first half, but were unable to spot when Diggs suffered the injury. The 23-year-old played every snap in the first three quarters and intercepted Sam Darnold on back-to-back drives in the third quarter. The Cowboys held Diggs out in the fourth quarter with the team up 19 points, but McCarthy said Diggs could have played if necessary. We think the former Alabama cornerback will play through the back issue uninhibited as long as no radicular symptoms show up, such as numbness or tingling in the arms or legs. Diggs leads the NFL with 5 interceptions through 4 games and the 3-1 Cowboys face the 1-3 Giants on Sunday.
