Trevor Lawrence, the presumptive number one pick, performed well at his pro day, and now is headed for left non-throwing shoulder surgery. Lawrence reportedly is having a labral repair surgery for instability. This is where the left shoulder slips out of socket. If this was his throwing shoulder, it would be a much bigger deal because it would be his dominant arm. This surgery is in fact a minor deal. It is an outpatient arthroscopic surgery with reliable recovery which should take four to six months. Given the pandemic and limited offseason program, Lawrence should not lose much time with preseason programs being nonexistent. His acclamation to the pro game will not be stunted in any way and although he will not be recovered for the draft he will be ready to compete after instead of teams finding out about the injury post-draft. We expect this left shoulder issue to be essentially a minimal to non factor during the draft process, and Lawrence will be ready to play this coming season.
