Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa suffered is reportedly dealing with bruised ribs from a hit he took Week 2 against the Bills. The second-year player left the game in the first quarter after defensive end A.J. Epenesa tackled him and landed hard on the right side of his chest, with the left side bearing the impact against the ground. His X-rays came back negative and Head Coach Brian Flores told reporters on Monday that the former Alabama quarterback's status is "day-to-day." That may be the case, but rib injuries are difficult to deal with for quarterbacks because of the twisting action required to throw the ball. A flak jacket is an option to reduce the risk of further injury to the ribs, but it doesn't help with the pain tolerance aspect and could limit mobility. The question facing Flores is whether Tagovailoa on no or limited practice time is a better option than backup Jacoby Brissett with full practice time? As we said on the podcast this week, we expect Brisssett to start against the Raiders in Week 3.
