Tua Tagovailoa Eligible To Return From Ribs Injury This Week, Expect Him To Start Against Jaguars

Tua Tagovailoa, the Dolphins quarterback, is poised to return this week from the rib fractures he suffered Week 2. The team has activated him off of injury reserve and his three week practice window has started. He can be activated at any point over the next three weeks. The second-year player was hurt early in Week 2, thus it really will be a full month before he takes a hit. He reportedly fractured multiple ribs, but ribs do heal fairly quickly given their abundant blood supply and cancellous bone.

If he is activated for the London game versus the Jaguars, traveling and flying with multiple rib fractures at this point is a non issue, despite the long trip to London. Assuming he's in football shape, we expect that he will be activated to the 53-man roster and starts versus the Jaguars in London. Second-string quarterback Jacoby Brissett threw for 689 yards, 4 touchdowns and 1 interception in three starts filling in for Tagovailoa.
