Twins' Bailey Ober Leaves Start With Groin Tightness

Twins righty Bailey Ober left Thursday's start in the 4th inning after reportedly experiencing groin tightness.

The 26-year-old exited after 3.2 innings and 73 pitches, in an inning in which he walked a runner into scoring position and allowed an RBI single.

After the game, Ober said he hopes not to miss a start with the injury. Manager Rocco Baldelli also said it's not a guarantee that Ober will have to miss time.

Avoiding a 10-day IL stint would be great news for Ober and the Twins. He had a 2.81 ERA in his first three starts with 16 IP, 2 home runs allowed and 13 Ks.

Minnesota has a 3.17 ERA through 19 games. Sonny Gray, currently on the 10-day IL with a hamstring strain is scheduled for a rehab start this weekend.
