Twins slugger Miguel Sanó was placed on the 10-day IL Monday with a left knee injury that could require surgery.

Sanó reportedly suffered a knee sprain in a rundown last Tuesday. He twisted his knee on the play and has reportedly dealt with soreness since.
He was pulled from Saturday's game and has not played since.
His placement on the 10-day IL coincided with the teams needing to trim the roster to 26 from 28.
In 54 at-bats this season, Sanó is hitting .093 with 1 home run, 3 RBIs and 21 strikeouts.
