T.Y. Hilton, the longtime Colts star receiver, had been doing well in training camp, but is now dealing with a neck disc issue. Hilton is said to be undergoing continued evaluation. The worry about a disc herniation with nerve impingement is real. We have no idea what his scans show, but at this point in time one has to be careful of aggravation. If he were to have disc herniation surgery, which would involve a cervical diskectomy and fusion, that would rule him out for well past the first half of the season. Disc issues never disappear but are instead managed. The fact that he plays on the outside helps but this is still something to be wary of even if he avoids surgery. Let's hope that Hilton can avoid surgery.
