Tyrese Haliburton Injury: Pacers' Star Guard to Miss Weeks With Left Knee Injury

Indiana Pacers star point guard Tyrese Haliburton left the arena on crutches Wednesday night after suffering a left knee injury in the third quarter against the Knicks.

Haliburton reportedly suffered a left elbow sprain and a mild left knee bone contusion when his leg bend awkwardly on his shot attempt in the paint.

Although his bone contusion is reportedly mild, Haliburton will likely miss 4-to-6 weeks with the injury, according to the Pro Basketball Docs. Bone bruises cannot be rushed and typically happen when the bones within the knee collide with each other.

Bone bruises can only be helped through rest, not rehab, hence why he left the arena on crutches.

The injury is a big blow to the 23-19 Pacers, who currently sit in the #7 seed in the Eastern Conference. The 23-year-old was leading the league in assists (10.2) and is the team's leading scorer (20.2).

Andrew Nembhard and T.J. McConnell will likely see more time at point guard with Haliburton out.
