We noticed Tyrod Taylor had been listed on Friday's injury report with a rib issue, though he had no injury designation heading into their AFC West matchup versus the Chargers. It was to the surprise of many that he was ruled out after warm-ups and replaced by rookie Justin Herbert. He was seen pointing to his chest before exiting, and was actually taken to the hospital. We pointed to a possible issue with an intercostal block injection administered to alleviate chest pain, that may have actually perforated his lung to some extent. It has since been confirmed that there were complications surrounding an injection that let to his exit.
