Tyron Smith On Verge Of Missing Rest Of Season

The Cowboys offensive line has been shaky all season and the bad news continues to pour on for this unit. Starting RT La'el Collins is apparently done for the season after hip surgery and LT Tyron Smith might not be far behind. As we indicated in earlier posts, once stingers catch on they tend to linger for a long time. Now Mike Garofolo is reporting the possibility of shutting his season down. This would be a major blow to the already hampered Cowboys line, where Travis Frederick retired at Center replacement Joe Looney is out for multiple weeks with an MCL Sprain. Connor Williams at LG is still recovering from last year's ACL surgery, leaving only one out of the five positions unaffected in Right Guard Zack Martin. If Smith is truly done, they will be paper thin at OT, as swing tackle Cam Erving went down with a knee injury, and they would likely be down to their 4th and 5th options as starters. Rookie Terence Steele has been struggling as a fill-in on the right side, and a roster move here seems likely.
