Vikings Wide Receiver Adam Thielen Reinjures Left Ankle, Unlikely To Return

Vikings star wide receiver Adam Thielen appeared to reinjured his left ankle when he was tackled in the second quarter of the Rams game.

By video, Thielen was tackled from behind and Rams safety Taylor Rapp landed on his previously left ankle.

We believe Thielen reaggravated the high ankle sprain that kept him out the past two weeks.

He has been deemed questionable to return with an ankle injury, but we would be shocked if he returns.

He was already struggling to be effective before suffering the reaggravation. The Vikings will likely rest him until he is closer to full health.

The 31-year-old was playing in his first game since suffering a high ankle sprain Week 13 against the Lions. Thielen was questionable for the game and had his ankle heavily taped throughout the game.

Thielen out means more targets for Justin Jefferson and K.J. Osborn.

Update

Thielen returned at the start of the second half and caught a pass. We don't expect much from Thielen in the second half, but it's good to see him return to play.
