Vladimir Guerrero Jr. Injures Hand, Stays In Game And Hits 3 Home Runs vs Yankees

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. had a career day on Wednesday against the Yankees, going 4-4 with 3 home runs, 1 double, and 4 RBI, with each bomb going well over 400 feet.

Even more impressively is he hit 2 of his 3 home runs – including the massive 443-footer in the 8th inning – after Yankees' outfielder Aaron Hicks stepped on his right hand while running out an infield single in the 2nd inning.

Hicks stepped on Guerrero's right hand when he put it on the foul line to brace himself while reaching for a short hop. The 23-year-old tried to shake off the pain while looking at his right hand, then remained in the game.

He got his bloody hand taped in the dugout and hit a 2-run bomb in the top of the 3rd, all with a blood stain on his pants. Guerrero Jr. rose his average to .391, adding 4 home runs and 8 RBI in 6 games.

The Blue Jays won the contest, 6-4, bringing them to 4-2 this season. Toronto finishes its 4-game set in New York tomorrow.
