Washington RB Antonio Gibson's Production Has Dropped Significantly Since Shin Injury Was Revealed As A Stress Fracture

Antonio Gibson, Washington's second-year running back, has not played well since his shin injury was revealed to be a stress fracture. The Washington Football Team has lost four straight games and play against the Buccaneers this Sunday. Gibson's shin injury will not fully heal until the offseason and the team has had to manage his snaps recently. In Week 8's 17-10 loss to the Broncos he played in 33% of the offensive snaps, his lowest total of the season. Here's a look at his stats since Week 4.

Week 5: 20 rushes for 60 yards 2 TDs, 2 catches for 12 receiving yards, 57% offensive snaps

Week 6: 10 rushes for 44 yards, 2 catches for 0 yards, 39% offensive snaps

Week 7: 14 rushes for 51 yards, 2 catches for 5 yards, 42% offensive snaps

Week 8: 8 rushes for 34 yards, 3 catches for 20 yards, 33% offensive snaps (lowest of the season)

Even after the bye week to rest, we don't expect much production from the 23-year-old. J.D. McKissic will likely continue to get a majority of the receiving duties out of the backfield.
