Christian McCaffrey 93

The fifth-year running back out of Stanford missed all but three games last year with ankle and shoulder injuries. He should be fully recovered and ready to go.

Saquon Barkley 43

The 24-year-old back had surgery to repair a torn ACL and a partially torn meniscus in his right knee on Oct. 30 last year. Even if he plays, you can’t expect him to carry a full load or be as explosive as usual.

Austin Ekeler 48

Los Angeles Chargers running back Austin Ekeler missed six games last season with a significant hamstring tear. He missed two practices this week with a hamstring injury and was a limited participant on Friday.

D’Andre Swift 77

Swift suffered a groin strain in the preseason and is not fully recovered. There is a chance of reaggravation and he is not ready to carry a full game load.

Joe Mixon 89

The fifth-year Bengals running back suffered a foot injury in Week 6 last year and missed 11 games. He comes into this year healthy.

Antonio Gibson 85

Gibson underwent turf toe surgery in the offseason. He is at risk of stiffness and reaggravation.

Dalvin Cook 95

Cook is healthy to start the year, but has a lengthy injury history including a torn ACL in his left knee in 2017.

Raheem Mostert 92

An MCL injury and a high ankle sprain limited Mostert to eight games last season. He enters this year healthy.

Clyde Edwards-Helaire 90

The Chiefs’ second-year back suffered a mild inversion ankle sprain this preseason, but he should be productive.

Darrell Henderson Jr. 91

Henderson suffered a thumb sprain this preseason, hence I would worry about his ball security.
