Austin Ekeler 92
The star Chargers’ running back did not appear on the team’s practice injury report, thus we think his hamstring is close to fully healthy. He was held without a catch in Week 1, but we think he will be a threat in the passing game this week against the Cowboys. We upgraded his SIC score from 48 last week to 92 this week.
Josh Jacobs/ Kenyan Drake 76
Jacobs has already been ruled out with ankle and toe injuries. Drake is fully healthy and should be able to shoulder the load in the ground game that Jacobs usually handles. We gave the Raiders’ backfield a combined SIC score of 76.
Raheem Mostert/ Elijah Mitchell / Jeff Wilson Jr. 41
The 49ers’ combined SIC score took a big hit this week with Mostert out for the season. Even though Jeff Wilson Jr. is out until at least November, the team still has a stable of young running backs with JaMycal Hasty, Trey Sermon and Elijah Mitchell.
Christian McCaffrey 95
The Panthers’ star running back is fully healthy from the ankle and shoulder injuries that plagued him last season. Against the Jets, he finished with 21 rushes for 98 yards and a TD, plus 9 catches for 89 yards.
Joe Mixon 92
Mixon missed 11 games last season with a foot injury, but he’s near full health now. He had 29 rushes for 127 yards and a TD, plus 4 catches for 23 yards in Week 1.
