Atlanta Hawks center Clint Capela has been upgraded to questionable for Game 4 of the playoff series against the No. 1 seed Miami Heat.
Capela has not appeared in a game since suffering a hyperextended right knee in the final play-in game against the Cavaliers.
The eight-year big man did not have a history of right knee injuries, thus the injury caused significant new damage and will continue to limit his mobility.
When the injury occurred, the Pro Basketball Docs were skeptical he would play at all in the first round.
Our panel of doctors – including former Chicago Bulls head physician Dr. John Hefferon and Houston Rockets head team physician Dr. Walt Lowe – remain skeptical about Capela's chances to return and be effective in the series.
For Game 4, Capela carries a SIC score of 48, meaning he has a less than 50% chance to suit up and will likely play limited minutes if he is active.
Working to Capela's advantage is the fact that he typically lives in the paint. He can still serve as a decent rim-protector with his limited mobility, but Onyeka Okongwu is likely the better option to defend Bam Adebayo at the moment.
The Hawks are 1.5-point underdogs for Game 4 and the over/under is 221, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
