What Are Matthew Stafford's Chances of Clearing Concussion Protocol By Sunday?

The Rams have listed Matthew Stafford as questionable for Sunday’s divisional matchup against the Cardinals as he progresses through concussion protocol.

Stafford was reportedly placed in concussion protocol Wednesday and logged his first limited practice of the week on Friday.

If he is cleared to play, he would be the 14th player out of 57 to return to play the next week after suffering a concussion. He would also be the third player to be cleared after logging their first limited practice on Friday.

Through Week 6, six of 39 players (15.4%) returned to play just one week after suffering a concussion.

Currently, that number has risen to 22.8% with 13 of 57 players clearing concussion protocol in less than one week.

Stafford needs to log a full practice on Saturday, then get clearance from an unaffiliated neurotrauma consultant to play Sunday against Arizona.

If he isn’t cleared, John Wolford would make his second career start and see his first game action since Week 13 last season.

Cardinals vs. Rams Week 10 Odds

The Rams (3-5) are favored by 3 against Arizona (3-6) and the over/under is 40.5, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
