Why Danny Green's Multi-Ligament Tear Is a Potentially Career-Ending Injury

Veteran sharpshooter Danny Green suffered a multi-ligament knee injury, including an ACL tear, during Thursday's Game 6 loss to the Heat.

Green told reporters Friday that the LCL tear was the more painful injury.

The Pro Basketball Docs detailed Thursday why Green likely suffered a multi-ligament tear on the play.

Unfortunately, the worst case scenario has come true.

Given the timing of the injury, Green will miss all of next season and may have played his last NBA game.

He's signed through the end of next season with the 76ers, but there might not be a market for him at 36.

Green was injured on this shot attempt from Joel Embiid during the first quarter of Game 6. He was carried to the locker room and quickly ruled out.

The three-time NBA champion averaged 5.9 points, 2.5 rebounds and 1 assist in 21.8 minutes per game during the regular season.

He shot 39.4% from the field and and 38% from 3, then improved to 40.4% from the field and 40.8% from 3 in the postseason.

Green has rings with the Lakers in 2020, the Raptors in 2019 and the Spurs in 2014
