Why You Should Expect A Strong Second Half From New Titan Robert Woods

While Robert Woods got off to a relatively slow start to his NFL career, he made a name for himself for the Rams of late leading up to their recent Super Bowl win. With the horned animals, Woods was a reliable WR2 alongside fantasy superstar Cooper Kupp for multiple seasons in the blue and yellow.

A significant injury unfortunately derailed his time out in California leading Woods to land himself and his middling 71 SIC score in Tennessee with the Titans

Before his injury, Woods played good football for the Rams putting up 45 receptions, and 556 yards with four touchdowns on top of a solid 12.4 y/rec. The USC alum tore his left ACL in November running a route in practice subsequently ending his season.

Following the 2021 season, the Rams traded Woods for a 6th-round draft pick.

Woods new squad are playing the long game as they have in the past with Jeffery Simmons and Bud Dupree in their ACL recoveries. Expect him to get off to a slow start to the season and start to ramp things up over the back half of the year.

Woods has told reporters he’s happy with the progress he’s been making in recovery, saying he feels his knee is responding well to speed and making cuts.

By video, Woods clearly favors the left leg while taking multiple steps to plant and pivot off the left side. The wideout is slow coming out and then is wrong footed as he uses his right side to turn up the field. Normally one would use the left foot for that which means Woods is far from 100% and would not be a surprise if he started the year on PUP just like former teammate Odell Beckham Jr. did last year.

Woods could be in for a big role in Tennessee as rookie Treylon Burks and Woods pose a fierce 1-2 punch of raw athleticism and pristine route running that could become one of the more underrated duos in the NFL when the former Ram gets healthy. Be on the lookout for a strong 2nd half of the 2022 season.
