Chicago Bears quarterback Justin Fields logged a full practice on Thursday and appears on track to return this Sunday against the division rival Green Bay Packers.
Fields' non-throwing shoulder injury could still limit him Sunday if he and the team don't opt to give him a pain-numbing injection, according to the Pro Football Docs.
The second-year quarterback has shown a willingness to get pain-numbing injections, including during his time at Ohio State.
Fields suffered a big hit to his ribs in second quarter of the Sugar Bowl against Clemson, but returned and finished the game with 6 touchdown passes.
Likely, the only way he could have turned in a performance like that after suffering the rib injury is through a rib-block injection.
A pain-numbing injection in his shoulder on Sunday will allow him to play pain-free and absorb the usual hits he takes running the ball.
It's possible Fields and the Bears are cautious during the game and limit his rushing attempts for their star quarterback.
If that's the case, and he doesn't receive a pain-numbing injection, his fantasy and DFS numbers will likely be heavily impacted.
Trevor Siemian, who started Week 12 for the injured Fields, has been unable to practice this week with an oblique injury he reportedly suffered during pregame warmups. Siemian finished 14 of 25 for 179 yards with 1 touchdown and 1 interception in the 31-10 loss to the Jets.
Green Bay is favored by 3.5 points in Chicago and the over/under is 44.5, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
