Washington starting cornerback William Jackson III has been ruled out after suffering what the team is calling an ankle injury in the first half.
Based on the non-contact nature of the injury and the video of Jackson touching his heel after the play, our immediate concern is for an Achilles injury as Jackson was grabbing where the Achilles inserts into the calcaneus/heel.
The play did not happen on camera, meaning our ability to diagnose is limited, and we can't be definitive without more video. We will know more when the 29-year-old is tested after the game.
Jackson has 32 tackles and 2 INTs in his 1st season in Washington, after leaving the Cincinnati Bengals during free agency.
