Denzel Mims had thumb surgery in 2018 to repair a fracture. The next year, he bounced back well and seemed to put the injury behind him posting a career high 12 touchdowns. In any case, he won’t be downgraded in the NFL draft as the injury is seen as the reason why he had career lows in 2018. In fact, he’s been rising in many mock drafts as he was a dynamic part of the Baylor passing barrage averaging 967 receiving yards in his final three years. Mims should go in the second round but may surprise as a late first round pick due to his combination of size and speed.
