Will miss the remainder of season after electing to undergo surgery on his right foot to address lingering discomfort he first experienced in December - Bulls now without backcourt duo with Lonzo Ball out for second straight season with knee injury.
Lavine had not played since suffering a right ankle sprain against the Toronto Raptors on Jan. 18. While out with the right ankle sprain, he decided to undergo the season-ending right foot surgery.
The former Timberwolves guard missed 17 games from late November to the beginning of January with right foot discomfort.
He averaged 19.5 points, 5.2 rebounds and 3.9 assists on 45.2/34.9/85.4 shooting splits in 25 games this season.
Lavine is in the second year of a five-year, $215 million maximum contract.
The Bulls are 23-26, ninth in the Eastern Conference, with 33 games remaining in the regular season.
